How to configure the outgoing server

Possibility of implementation of a huge number of functions – the server of outgoing messages. Thanks to it, function it is always aware of change of resources. The SharePoint Server 2010 program has such opportunities.

Instruction

1. You should have administrative rights for access to install SMTP service. Open the Start menu, click with a mouse on "Administration", select "The manager of the server". Find the Components point in this bookmark and click it, and in the section under the name "Report of Components" click on "Add components".

2. Select the SMTP server on the page with components. Click on "Add necessary components" in a window under the name "Master of Adding of Components", then "Further". Click "Install" on the page where it is necessary the confirmation of the selected element is necessary.

3. Install IIS 6.0. In the Manager of the Server bookmark through the Administration point click with a mouse "Role", select "Add service of roles". There you will need to select the Control facilities item and still "Compatibility of management of IIS 6.0". Click "Install". After you execute all aforesaid, you will have a configured domain sending e-mails.

4. Now add one more domain. Select a bookmark under the name "Manager of IIS 6.0 Services" in the Administration point, then in the Domains context menu to click on "Create", then "Domain". Click further in a window under the name "Master of Creation of the Domain SMTP" in the Remote point click "Further" and enter the name of the domain of the SMTP server. The domain name will be told by microsoft.com if the server under the name Microsoft Exchange is used.

5. Configure this added domain. Put for this purpose near "Allow relaying of incoming mail in this domain" a mark.

6. Now you need to configure authorization on the target SMTP server. Select the Safety of Outgoing Connections item in properties of the domain, further click necessary type of authorization. Configure SharePoint mail settings. Select the SharePoint server in the center of administration.
