For creation of network connection to the Internet it is necessary to select and configure the router correctly. Parameters of settings of this equipment depend on the provider selected by you.

Instruction
1. Before change of settings of the router it is necessary to update the version of its software (to stitch the device). Visit the official site of vendor of your router.
2. Find the section containing firmware files for the existing models of devices. Select the latest version of the software suitable for this model of the device, and download it.
3. Turn on the router, having connected to it power. Connect an Ethernet link (LAN) to the network adapter of the desktop computer or the laptop on which the file firmware is located.
4. Start the browser and enter the router IP address into its address bar, having added http:// characters at the beginning of a line. It will allow you to open the web interface of settings of the equipment.
5. Pass into the Version of Software or Main Interface menu. Find the Search or Browse button and click it. Specify the file firmware which you downloaded for software update of this router.
6. After completion of process of update reboot the device. Connect to its WAN port (DSL, Internet) the cable provided to you by provider.
7. Repeat process of login to the web interface of the router. Select the Settings of the Internet menu (WAN, Internet Setup). Change settings of the required paragraphs of this menu. In a case with the Internet from the Stream company it is necessary to set the following parameters: - connection type - PPPoE
- IP (WAN) - 192.168.1.2
- GW (WAN) - 192.168.1.1
- DNS server – auto
- IP (LAN) – 192.168.2.1
- DHCP – yes
- Range of the IP addresses for the DHCP server – 192.168.2.100-200.
8. Do not forget to specify the login and the password for authorization. Now save settings and reboot the router. Open automatically".
9. Open the command line, having made the cmd command in the execute menu. Enter the route command – f. Reboot.
