Connection of the Internet to your computer by means of ADSL connection is executed by means of connection of a telephone line and the modem. To ensure the correct functioning of the modem and phone at the same time, it is necessary to use a splitter. The splitter is some kind of filter which can separate the frequency of channels into several branches.

Instruction
1. Modern automatic telephone exchanges allow to transmit by means of one cable several frequency signals, for example, standard telephone line and Internet. A few years ago this technology was still unknown therefore Internet connection and implementation of calls on the subscriber number were made separately. Today the splitter allows to execute this "section of priorities".
2. For good connection it is necessary to exclude all twists of wires on the path from automatic telephone exchange before connection to the net board. Any break even leads parts of a wire to deterioration in an incoming signal that can lead to unstable work of the Internet (low speed of loading, increase in a ping, etc.). In the presence of solderings or twists it is desirable to call the master who will be able to replace to you a telephone cable with continuously going wire.
3. The most favorable arrangement of the telephone socket for connection of a splitter is the place at the computer since the splitter divides a telephone cable into two components, one of which unites to the net board. The remained cable is connected to the telephone set which can be transferred to any place at the expense of a long wire.
4. Take in one hand a splitter, and in other hand the main telephone cable. Connect the cable plug to the splitter LINE connector. On the opposite side of a splitter you will see two connectors: for the modem and for stationary phone. Connect plugs of devices to the corresponding connectors of a splitter (PHONE and MODEM).
5. After connection of a splitter to a telephone line and the devices which are powered from it, it is necessary to check operability of the created chain. Turn on the ADSL modem, and then turn on the computer. If when loading files from the Internet on your stationary phone calls can arrive, and at the picked-up phone you can communicate, therefore, connection was organized correctly.
