- the network interface card, the network hub (at connection of three and more PCs).
Instruction
1. Let's consider a situation when you have three computers. It is possible to sign, of course, with provider three contracts for rendering services of Internet access. All quickly and simply, but is big minus – wishes to pay for three accounts not everyone.
2. Let's review examples of creation of a local area network with Internet access by own forces. In this situation we need either the router or the network hub. The second option is cheaper, but it is rather inconvenient. The fact is that at connection of computers to the network hub, they will get synchronous Internet access only under one condition: one of them should perform functions of the server.
3. Let's stop on this option. Select the computer which will distribute the channel of connection with the Internet. Install in it the additional network adapter. Connect this device to the network hub. Note: if only two computers are a part of a local area network, then the network hub is not required in general.
4. Connect a cable of the Internet to a server computer. Configure connection with the server of provider. Open properties of it for other net surfers to use connection to the Internet of this computer". The second network interface card will automatically receive static (constant) IP address 192.168.0.1.
5. Connect the second computer to the first, using for this purpose the network cable. Open settings of parameters of the network adapter on the second PC. Pass to properties of the TCP/IP protocol. Activate the Use the Following IP Address point, and specify its value equal 192.168.0.2. Into the third and fourth fields of this menu enter the server computer IP address.
6. Pay attention to the following nuance: if you need to connect several PC to the server, then use the network hub.
