Each application is installed on the computer in a certain directory. That every time not to open different folders in search of start icons, it is easier to place labels on them on a desktop. To create a label for Internet connection, it is necessary to perform several operations.
Instruction
1. The icon for Internet connection is in the Network environment folder. The label on this folder is a standard element of a desktop in Windows, usually it appears automatically after installation of a system. If you deleted this label, it is possible to return it through the Screen component.
2. Click a desktop with the right mouse button, select the Properties item in a drop-down menu. In the opened window go to the Desktop tab and press the Setup of a Desktop button. In an additional window go to the General tab and install a marker opposite to the Network environment icon. Apply new settings. If you do not want to place a label "Network environment" on a desktop, press the Start-up button and just select the Network environment item in the menu.
3. On the panel of typical tasks in the left part of a window select a task "Display network connections". If the list of typical tasks is not displayed, in the menu "Service" select the Properties of the Folder item, the new dialog box will open. Go to the General tab and install a marker in the field "Display of the List of Typical Tasks in Folders". Apply new settings and close a window.
4. When all network connections are displayed, bring the cursor to the Connection on a Local Area Network icon and click it with the right mouse button. In a drop-down menu select the Send item and the subparagraph "Desktop (to create a label)". Other option: bring the cursor to an icon of Internet connection and, holding clicked the left mouse button, drag it on a desktop.
5. If you need quick access to Internet connection, but you do not want to place a label on a desktop, place it on the panel of quick start on a task bar (the area is more right than the Start-up button). For this purpose bring the cursor to an icon and, holding clicked the left mouse button, drag it on a task bar.
6. If it is not possible to place an icon on the panel of quick start, make sure that it is active and editable. Click a task bar with the right mouse button, in a drop-down menu select the Tools item. In point of the Quick start submenu the marker should be installed.
