At setup of a local area network between two computers it is necessary to set correctly parameters of network interface cards and to select security settings. It will facilitate further work in network.
It is required to you
- - twisted pair cable;
- - administrative rights.
Instruction
1. Select a way of connection of two computers in a single network. The simplest and cheap option is to use the twisted pair cable. Buy the network cable and connect it to network adapters of both computers. Turn on these devices and wait until automatic detection of new network is completed.
2. Set the constant IP addresses for the used network interface cards. It will allow to find quickly the necessary computer in network. Open the control panel and pass into the Network Connections menu. Find an icon of the necessary network interface card and pass to its properties. Select the Internet Protocol of TCP/IP point. Click "Properties".
3. Select the Use the Following IP Address parameter. Enter in the first field of the opened menu value of the static IP address for this network interface card. Save changes, having clicked "Apply". Execute a similar algorithm for setup of the network adapter of other computer. Change the last IP addresses segment.
4. Now configure settings of the general access for each computer. Disable Windows firewall. It will allow you to facilitate the PC setup. This method is not recommended for use to active Internet users. Open the Start menu and pass to the Execute point.
5. In the appeared field enter Firewall.cpl and click the ENTER key. Pass to the General tab of the opened menu. Install a tick near the It (Is Not Recommended) to Switch Off parameter. Press the OK button to save changes.
6. Disconnect the additional program-fayervoll if such is installed on the computer. Check settings of the network screen of your antivirus. Add your internal local area network to exceptions to allow to communicate freely between computers. Perform the described operations for setup of the second computer.
