Office OpenOffice.org package, like other software of similar assignment, allows to number pages automatically. This numbering then will be visible both when viewing the document on the screen, and at its output to printing.
Instruction
1. Type and save the text in a OpenOffice.org package or open in it the ready document.
2. Depending on that, where exactly you wish to arrange page numbers (in the top or lower part of the page), select the Page Header or Page footer item in the View menu. In the appeared submenu select the Normal item.
3. Headlines (top or lower, depending on your choice) will appear on all pages of the document. Transfer the cursor to the area of a headline on any of pages. Click left alignment, in the middle or on the right edge, depending on from what party of a leaf you wish to arrange page numbers.
4. Select in the menu consistently items: "Insert", "Fields", "Page number". On all pages of the document their numbers will appear. Select any of them and select for it a font, its size, style (bold, the italics emphasized), if desired apply different effects. Everything that you will make with number of any of pages, will automatically affect also the others.
5. In some documents it is accepted not to put the page number on a cover. The page following a cover all the same should have number 2. To achieve it, translate the cursor in the field of a headline of the first page and select menu items: "Format", "Styles", "Directory". The window in which in the top dropdown menu it is necessary to select the Styles of the Page item will appear. In the appeared list select The First Page item and click "OK". On the first page of the document the headline will disappear, and on the others numbering will continue, since 2.
6. Save the document and if necessary print it. Consider that if the same document then is open not in OpenOffice.org, and in other software package (Google Docs, Microsoft Office, etc.), distribution of the text on pages, their quantity and numbering can not match. Probability of it is reduced when using the latest versions of OpenOffice.org significantly.
