How to store wild berries

The summer is a time of various berries, all love them since childhood. Red, black, sweet or sour is a useful and tasty delicacy both for children, and for adults. Not always it is possible to eat such amount of berries at once therefore they need to be stored somehow.

It is required to you

  • berries;
    • plastic bags;
    • tanks for freezing;
    • sugar;

Instruction

1. Spread out a wild strawberry and raspberry on a plate or any flat surface in one layer. Cover with a napkin and you store in the fridge. It is impossible to leave them in a glass jar and plastic packing. Berries with a dense surface, such as bilberry, blueberry, cranberry, stone bramble it is possible to store in the deep capacity covered with a napkin.

2. One of widespread storage techniques of berries is their freezing. Before it fill blueberry, stone bramble, bilberry, a cranberry or cowberry in a colander and wash up them cold water, put away excess garbage. Then dry berries, put them in a plastic bag and freeze. For convenience freeze in packages in the form of briquettes 2 cm thick is possible.

3. A wild strawberry and raspberry - gentle berries therefore freeze their dirty. Take a baking tray, lay on it a linen or paper towel, scatter on it berries in one layer and put in the freezer for an hour. As soon as the wild strawberry or raspberry hardens, put it in a package, the glass jar or plastic capacity intended for freezing. In such look they won't begin to freeze together and will remain firm. Berries are suitable for the use in a little frost-damaged look, in them all gustatory qualities and nutritive properties remain.

4. Wild berries can be frozen in a sugar syrup. For this purpose take 150 g of sugar on 0.5 liters of water and weld syrup. Heat on slow fire to full sugar remelting, and then cool. In a package for freezing leave a little place as when freezing there will be an expansion.

5. When you want to defreeze berries, put their baking plate hot water directly in packing. It is possible to defreeze at the room temperature or in the microwave. The defrozen berries can't be frozen and stored repeatedly.
