The summer is a time of fresh fruit and berries. Traditionally at this time we hurry to stock up with tasty and useful preparations for the winter. Orange jam with ginger

Thanks to the astringent flavor and refined aroma, ginger is perfectly combined practically with all citrus including with oranges. Besides, it doubles useful properties of jam, doing it by irreplaceable means for strengthening of immunity.

Necessary ingredients:

  • 5 kg of oranges;
  • 2 tablespoons of a cracked ginger;
  • 500 g of granulated sugar.

Preparation:

We wash oranges and we peel. We fill in orange skins with the boiling water and we leave to infuse for 5 minutes. We cut fruits of oranges on small pieces and we delete all stones then we spread them in separate ware, we fill up with granulated sugar and it is carefully mixed. We crush an orange peel and we add it to the cut oranges together with water in which it was.

We put a pan with oranges on slow fire and we bring to the boil then we add a cracked ginger and it is carefully mixed. It is necessary to cook orange jam until it doesn't thicken (about 30-40 minutes). We remove ready orange delicacy from fire, we allow it to cool down a little and we spill on banks.

Oranges jam with apricots

If usual apricot jam already became boring and there is a wish for something new and unusual, then the classical recipe can be diversified, having added to it oranges. Apricots are perfectly combined with this type of a citrus, creating incredibly gentle and fragrant delicacy.

Necessary ingredients:

  • 1 kg of oranges;
  • 3 kg of apricots;
  • 5 kg of sugar.

Preparation:

We wash apricots and we divide into halves, deleting from them stones. We spread the processed fruits in a pan, generously we fill up with sugar and we leave to infuse for 6-8 hours. We wash oranges and, without rinding, we cut them on average pieces of any form, deleting in passing all stones. We pass the cut oranges via the meat grinder. We send the received weight to the apricots which already infused and started up juice. We put a pan on small fire and we cook orange and apricot weight until thick. We pack ready jam on banks and we close covers.

Orange jam

We send the received citrus preparation to a pan together with a dried peel and granulated sugar then carefully we mix everything.

We put a pan on slow fire and we cook 20 minutes. We cool a ready dessert and we display on banks. If desired it is possible to add one packing of gelatin that the consistence of jam turned out similar to fruit jelly to jam.
