How to change wooden floor

The wooden floor cover is eco-friendly very strong covering from good warm and sound insulation. But despite large number of advantages, wooden floor has also number of shortcomings among which there is emergence of cracks under the influence of humidity and change of temperature. The only exit from such situation is replacement of boards of floor.

It is required to you

  • — new boards;
  • — chisel;
  • — paring hammer;
  • — nails.

Instruction

1. Lift the damaged boards which should be replaced. If the board is not fixed, it is simple to make it.

2. In the return case extend one end of board by means of chisel and, having recorded it in such state, by means of paring hammer lift other floor.

3. If it is not possible to lift flooring, cut it across. For this purpose find fixing nails in board, having defined thus location of the next beam, and drill opening with a diameter of 10 mm. It is necessary to drill at distance not less than 25 mm from hats of nails.

4. Then insert the fret saw into opening and cut board across. Insert chisel into cut and, working with it as the lever, lift board.

5. If it is necessary to replace all board, cut off the necessary length and sostrugayta grooves so that the board has laid down on beams. Nail up it to each beam which it crosses. If only the short section is replaced, it is necessary to provide support for that end which does not reach beam. For this purpose fasten the end of section screws to the parties of beam.

6. If it is necessary to replace several boards in a row, cut off the following board and the same as at previous, to sostrugayta and put grooves near the next board. Having straightened it, nail up into place. Perhaps, you need to level material. It is better to level grooves of board by means of plane, but if it is absent, use chisel and, having clamped one board on workbench, remove groove.
