The electric power is brought to the apartment on two wires: phase and zero. The zero conductor for safety reasons should be brought to chandelier directly, and phase - via the switch, at the same time thread segment of the boss has to be connected to zero conductor. Special devices will help to distinguish them from each other.
It is required to you
- - phase indicator;
- - rubber gloves.
Instruction
1. Buy in household shop the device for definition of phase wire. It can be one of the following types: with the neon lamp, with LED and also with the liquid crystal indicator. Or collect such device independently, having connected consistently well isolated probe, the resistor on 1 megaohm and 0.5 watts, neon bulb and the sensor.
2. To define zero conductor by means of the device on the basis of the neon lamp, concern the sensor then, without touching sting of the screw-driver or the probe at all (depending on execution of the device), concern the bared part of wire. Surely you hold other hand behind the back accidentally not to concern it other current carrying parts. If the neon lamp does not shine, this wire - zero if is - phase.
3. The indicator in which instead of the neon lamp the LED is used is more universal. It is possible not only to determine by it availability of phase tension, but also to roughly measure resistance. Its shortcoming is need to periodically change batteries. Use it also, but do not concern the sensor - you hold the screw-driver for the body. Use the sensor only when checking conductivity of deenergized chains. Such device can use in rubber gloves that eliminates danger of contact of the next conductors, for example, at accidental sliding of sting. Replace indicator batteries only when it is switched-off from any external chains.
4. The device equipped with the school liquid crystal indicator for measurement of resistance is unsuitable, but it can use for definition of availability of tension in low-voltage chains. In the latter case at measurements touch the sensor. When availability of phase tension in normal room wiring is defined, you hold it only for the body, similarly light-emitting diode. If on the screen any division has not turned black, the conductor is zero. This indicator also allows work in rubber gloves, and does not demand batteries.
