Laurels – subtropical evergreen plant. It is widespread across the Mediterranean and is quite unpretentious, - but nevertheless does not maintain temperature below-12 degrees. However Russians were accustomed with success to grow up laurels of the house. This plant not only is effective (its magnificent krone can easily give any form), but also it is useful: the laurels flavor and purify air in the house and generously give to culinary specialists fragrant leaves.

Instruction
1. It is recommended to acquire young monasteries at gardening fair or in specialized flower shop. Upon purchase choose plants with branched root system and, of course, without symptoms of diseases. The brought home sapling can long not grow if it has been put during dormant period (most likely in the summer). However it will by all means be extended the end of February - the beginning of March. But if you or your acquaintances already have laurels, then it is not difficult to collect from it seeds. It is necessary to remove from seed okoloplodnik and at once to place future laurels in small pot. It is the best of all to do it in February. On capacity bottom for landing it is desirable to fill layer of crocks, then layer of coarse-grained sand, then layer of peat mix and after, from above, layer of bank sand.
2. The main condition of the correct cultivation of laurels – regular watering without overwetting of the soil and abundant spraying of leaves. It should be added baking soda to water (half of teaspoon on 1 liter). In warm season of plant it is necessary to spray so that water got in krone.
3. The house laurels are not afraid of drafts. Therefore in the summer it can be "moved" on balcony, slightly priteniv from direct sunshine. The plants exposed during heat on open air love the evening watering from shower or hose washing all krone. If not to do it, wreckers can attack laurels.
4. If to laurels the pot becomes rather small, then in the spring former should replace it in capacity to 2 cm more. On bottom of pot it is necessary to put crocks and coarse sand layer of 3 - 4 cm. The main soil mix is prepared from the cespitose, sheet earth and sand. However it is possible to use ready substrate for palm trees or cacti.
