The Amur grapes – one of the most hardy and frost-resistant grades. It grows in the Far East, in Korea and China. It can be grown up with success both in southern, and in northern areas. But for areas with cold winters there are the specifics.
Drainage system
After purchase of saplings of the Amur grapes start landing not at once. In the beginning it is necessary to prepare the landing area. For the Amur grapes which are especially grown up in frigid climate the most solar place protected from wind is chosen. Then the hole with drainage system as this plant does not transfer overwetting is preparing.
The site intended for landing of the Amur grapes skim soil on 20 cm. Then from this place dig through trench to the next lowland. At the end of trench dig out hole in which install big barrel. Site where grapes will grow, lay the dense material which is passing water, having left free wide edges. Then on this material fill layer of crushed stone of 15 cm. Wrap edges inside and fill up fabric with layer of soil which is taken out earlier. Too lay trench bottom material and fill up with crushed stone to the barrel, close and powder with the earth. This drainage system even during the most heavy rains and after thawing of snow will take away from grapes roots excess water which will gather in flank and can be used for watering.
Protective box
Further it is necessary to make protective box. The box will not allow soil temperature to fall at roots of grapes too low. The box from wooden boards, length and width any, depending on the number of landings, height – 90-100 cm is knocked together. Box hollow (without bottom). Wooden boards are warmed by expanded polystyrene from within. On site perimeter for cultivation of grapes put brick or plate on which establish box. Fill up in it sheet humus or compost and prime quality land. At need the box will be easy to be closed film frames to create the greenhouse for saplings of grapes and to protect them from frosts.
Landing and leaving
It is better to place saplings in box in the spring that they have managed to take roots and grow roots properly on the new place before frosts. On one square meter of the area one sapling lands. After landing the soil is mulched by sawdust. It is possible to lay atop material agrotex black color – it will interfere with evaporation of moisture and to promote bigger warming up of the soil. Saplings are fallen asleep for winter with thick layer of sawdust, foliage and warmed by ukryvny material. Adult lashes gather, develop in box and the packages filled with sawdust are located on them. That in box mice were not got and have not damaged grapes roots, in the fall on its corners it is necessary to spread out mouse poison.
