Every spring on bed the tulips are pleasing to the eye the bright buds. The task of gardeners is to provide conditions that the next year these wonderful flowers also beautifully blossomed. It does not happen if flower kidneys are not stuffed up. It is difficult to achieve such conditions, leaving tulips for the winter in soil.
It is required to you
- - wooden boxes or cardboard boxes for storage of bulbs;
- - potassium permanganate.
Instruction
1. Always mark the place where there will be to blossom tulips. Even the most skilled hostesses sometimes cannot precisely define location of bulbs. Tulips have one feature – their bulbs go deep into the earth all the time therefore it is necessary to dig out tulips carefully not to damage.
2. As soon as the tulip fades, break off seed box because process of formation of seeds will take away from plant many forces and nutrients which can are required for forming of new bulbs.
3. As soon as leaves of tulip turn yellow, dig out bulbs. It is not necessary to dig out them right after blossoming as in that case bulbs will not manage to ripen, and the next year the blossoming will not be such abundant any more, and children will be less. Early grades of tulips grow ripe approximately since the end of June prior to the beginning of July. It is better to dig out in dry weather. Leave bulbs for several days under canopy to dry. As soon as bulbs dry, clean them from the earth, leaves, roots and separate.
4. Prepare weak solution of potassium permanganate and pickle it bulbs. Leave them in this solution for about 20-30 minutes and let's dry. Put bulbs of tulips in cardboard boxes or wooden boxes. It is the best of all to display them one or two layers.
5. Within the first month you store bulbs at rather high temperature (to 25 degrees) because low temperature can prevent laying of flower kidney. Further it is gradually possible to reduce temperature to 15 °C. It is better to hold them indoors with dry air. To the moment of disembarkation you watch that on bulbs direct sunshine did not get.
