Correctly organized preservation of the base for the winter allows to keep design and to guarantee further stability of the building, its durability.
The base, unprotected for the winter, can lead to sad consequences which result will be destruction of basis and impossibility of continuation of construction. Among negative sides of "wintering" - the close underground waters capable to wash away the base, its cracking because of frost, freezing which will be shown in a couple of years when the building is already built. Experts apply several methods of preservation which are quite often used in complex.
Waterproofing
Works on waterproofing need to be performed after 4 weeks after the end of filling, before subzero temperature. The waterproofing is necessary for preservation of the continuous or plate footing; its other types (pile, column) do not need it. Tape material is necessary for protection against moisture. It can be roofing material or less expensive polyethylene film. All design needs to be wrapped up for the winter not to allow hit of snow and penetration of moisture which will lead further to emergence of cracks.
Thermal insulation
It is carried out after waterproofing. Plates from extruded polystyrene foam with which it is necessary to cover all area will be necessary for work. For the best warming from above it is possible to fill layer of shaving, straw. From above cover all "system" with polyethylene film; at the same time it is necessary to provide its immovability – it is possible to press down covering heavy blocks, bricks or to powder with haydite. If in the base there are openings under communication infrastructure, they need to be closed densely suitable sheet material, for example, plywood.
Withdrawal of underground waters
The purpose of this operation – glut exception spring or autumn moisture of the soil near the base which leads to its cracking, and, finally, to deformation. To avoid it, it is necessary to equip the system of grooves, drains which will dewater from incomplete building. At first find the lowest place where dig out hole which will serve as peculiar store. On all perimeter of the base dig through rather narrow grooves channels of 40 cm in depth. To provide bias for water drain, at hole - "tank" deepen the channel to 50 cm. Perpendicular to the grooves equipped on perimeter dig out additional channels drains so that all system reminded grid. During preservation it is necessary to support channels in working order, without allowing their falling asleep by the earth as a result of rains or wind.
