How to manufacture the furnace for garage

If you need the furnace for garage, do not try to think up something special. The simplest and economic option is the potbelly stove tested with time – the metal furnace of round shape capable to heat garage in only a few minutes. The advantage of the potbelly stove is also simplicity of its design – several hours quite will be enough for production of the simplest oven.

It is required to you

  • – steel sheet 1.5 mm thick;
  • – corner of 25х25 mm;
  • – welding machine;
  • – grinder;
  • – metalwork tool.

Instruction

1. Cut out the Bulgarian from steel sheet of preparation for the furnace: - rectangle of 125х60 cm – preparation for the furnace body; - two circles with a diameter of 40.5 cm – preparation for bottom and cover; - rectangle of 20х25 cm – preparation for fire chamber door; - rectangle of 12х25 cm – preparation for draft door; - rectangle of 10х32 cm – preparation for smoke-deflecting branch pipe.

2. Bend from leaf 125х60 cm pipe 60 cm long with a diameter about 40 cm. Weld its joint. It is the most convenient to Gibk to carry out on log or large diameter pipe, having created emphasis for the sheet edge. Do not try at are flexible to try to obtain absolutely correct round shape. The pipe can be aligned easily after boiling of joint.

3. Cut in pipe two rectangular openings sizes 10х23 and 18х23 see. The first opening is ashpit aperture, the second – fire chamber aperture. The opening for ashpit should be cut so that one its party (23 cm) passed on the edge of pipe. The distance between the first and second openings (crossing point width) has to be about 10 cm. Openings, certainly, have to be on one axis.

4. Weld in in the pipe body grid-irons from corner of 25х25 mm, having arranged their angular edge with distance between regiments of the next corners about 15 mm up. On furnace height the grid iron has to be located over ashpit at once. It is reasonable to perform this work in the following order – at first to weld the central corner, then side, adjusting their length and form of edge in the place.

5. Weld on the furnace body bottom and cover – the circles prepared in step 1. Welding cover, provide tightness of seam – that the furnace did not smoke. It is not required to provide tightness of seam when welding bottom.

6. Bend from preparation 10х32 cm smoke-deflecting branch pipe with a diameter of 10 cm. Make its joint. Using branch pipe as template, plan in furnace cover round opening under its welding. It can be located anywhere, however it is desirable to place it on the edge of cover. It is possible that you should heat water for some needs, in this case the free surface of the furnace is necessary very opportunely.

7. Cut welding or gas cutting opening on the planned contour and weld in in it branch pipe, trying to provide tightness of seam.

8. Bend from preparations of door for fire chamber and ashpit, using as template for are flexible the furnace body. Weld on their short party two tubes with a diameter about 10 mm – loop of canopies. Pick up suitable axes to loops, put them in loops and weld furnaces, in assembled form to the body. Attach blanking plates to doors and weld on the furnace body appropriately curved bars for fixing of blanking plates.

9. Cut off and weld on the furnace bottom four corners – as legs. On it production of the furnace can be considered finished.
