Gardeners know how it is important to make trees ready for the winter, the successful wintering is the most important condition of good productivity of orchard. The correct preparation of garden increases its resistance to frosts and bad weather.

1. Surely dig over (on half-bayonet or on full bayonet) and loosen the soil in pristvolny area. Such processing will keep moisture and will save from wreckers in top layer of the earth. Not to damage roots, dig pitchfork. Together with redigging bring ashes in the soil - it is both fertilizer, and protection against wreckers.
2. In August feed up trees and bushes fertilizers with phosphorus and potassium. These two elements increase resistance of all parts of plants to winter icy cold. Superphosphate, sulfate potassium and double superphosphate will approach – bring them in pristvolny circle according to recommendations on packing.
3. Having reaped crop, do not leave dry and sick leaves and fruits on branches - it is source of diseases. In September clean trunks of trees from dry bark, especially trees need it 8 years are more senior. Clean off bark metal brushes or the tool for removal of grass between plates. Remove only external layers of black or brown color.
4. From the beginning of leaf fall carry out cutting – remove the sick, dry and broken branches. Do cuts equal if the wound was formed – cover it with the garden thief or garden glue.
5. At the end of October - in November when any more there are practically no green leaves, remove lichens from trunks of trees. To get rid of them, spray trunks with iron vitriol. After the lichen dries out and will become brown, remove it manually with brush.
6. Make young trees (apple-trees and pears) ready for the winter hardening of root system. In September collect the earth around trees, baring upper part of large roots. You store this earth in the dried look in the dry not freezing through room. When there comes the first cold weather, return the earth into place. Thus roots will get used to low temperatures and will better endure the dangerous period before snow loss.
7. If fall not rainy, water garden before the termination of leaf fall. Not less than 40-50 l of water have to fall on one tree at the age of 4-6 years. It is necessary to water not only pristvolny zone, but also all area under crown.
8. In dry weather after leaf fall spray trees with the disinfecting solution of high concentration, it will protect them from fungus and other widespread diseases. Dissolve copper vitriol in hot water (300 g of vitriol on 10 l of water) and spray trees – branches and trunk.
9. After spraying protect trees from solar burns. Apply on area of trunk from the earth to the first branches garden whitewashing or special paint on latex basis. You apply whitewashing in dry weather, on dry bark.
