The mordant represents the painting solution used for giving to wood of brown color. The texture of the wooden product painted by mordant becomes more rich and is more contrast as this liquid, unlike normal paints, reveals and emphasizes the natural drawing of tree.
Instruction
1. Make trial staining, having covered with mordant layer prototype from the same wood. Having waited for drying of the first layer, put over it the second, having left raw the small site. Thus you define how many times it will be necessary to process product for obtaining the necessary result.
2. Pour mordant in plastic capacity. Or sponge evenly apply with qualitative brush without metal cup solution on the pretreated a little absorbing wood. Distribute it evenly perpendicular to the direction of texture. Delete surplus of mordant in the direction of texture. You apply on the finely porous mordant which is strongly absorbing wood by means of the gun with tank having the small size of the nozzle which is not exceeding 1.5 millimeters.
3. Apply solution on vertical surface, round elements or porous wood of firm grades having used clean rags which will allow you to get rid of drips. Rub surplus of mordant during time in the direction perpendicular to the direction of texture. Collect residue of solution from surface, moving ahead along the direction of structure.
4. Use 26 percent solution of ammonia or ammonia solution for staining of oak, chestnut, nut or mahogany. To avoid irritation of eyes, work in well ventilated room, having put on respirator and safety glasses or make special vaporizing cabinet for staining ammonia vapors. Having built framework, cover it with black plastic foil and stick all joints. Inside place several small wide containers with solution of ammonia and product which processing needs to be made. Remove metal findings from the surface of wood and leave in the pressurized camera for day. There will be enough this time for obtaining average-brown color.
