To receive good harvest of onions, the fertilized earth for placement of plants should be prepared since fall. For landing take small bulbs with a diameter no more than 2.5 cm. "Necks" of bulbs are not recommended to be cut off.

- - saltpeter, urea, superphosphate and humus (for fertilizing);
- - Bordeaux liquid;

1. Most often onions are planted at the end of April - the first third of May. Late landing reduces productivity. In two weeks prior to placement lukovichek in kitchen garden within several hours warm up them at temperature of 40-45 degrees – this procedure increases resistance of plant to diseases.
2. The distance between ranks of onions has to be not less than 20 cm. Usually on bed plant plants in three ranks; therefore, the most convenient width of bed - about 80 cm. Water onions as required and stop watering as soon as feathers have turned yellow.
3. When there are greens, carry out the first fertilizing by ammonium nitrate or urea (tablespoon on water bucket). It is also possible to apply humus and superphosphate. Repeat fertilizing when 3-4 feathers of green onions grow. For prevention of diseases in three weeks after landing process onions the Bordeaux liquid. It is impossible to spray with chemicals, onions will be used then in food. Too it is better not to apply manure as it helps to grow to shooters and slows down development of bulbs.
4. If shooters of onions incline, dry and turn yellow, is strong indication of the fact that harvesting is close. Start when such hung plants on bed there is more than a half. Similar is observed approximately at the end of August.
