Infrared film floor: pluses and minuses

Infrared film floor: pluses and minuses

Not so long ago in the market there was infrared heat-insulated floor, but already has managed to become the real competitor of the leading heating systems. How does film floor what merits and demerits it has function?

What is infrared floor?

Infrared film floor represents layer up to 5 mm thick with the strips applied on it. These strips consist of the carbonic heating coils and copper conducting tires covered with silver sputtering for prevention of their burning out.

From two parties the heating coils are laminated by polymer which protects them from hit of moisture and carries perfectly out infrared waves which warm up surrounding objects and people, and those, in turn, air. Such film at the expense of electricity at connection to network of 220 volts by means of temperature regulator works.

Advantages of infrared floor

- availability at the price in comparison with other types of heat-insulated floors; - easy and fast mounting. Laying of warm film is made without concrete tie, and time for it leaves a little – at most two days. For comparison, water gender is assigned within month. Besides, the film covering can be laid as during capital, and renovation; - obtaining certain length. It is convenient to separate film into the necessary pieces in specially noted places; - uniformity of warming up of the room. At convection heating at ceiling temperature is higher, than below. The heat-insulated floor fixes this problem; - safety for the person, animals and plants. Infrared radiation of floor does not affect health, and the materials used by production do not cause allergies;

Infrared radiation is even useful for the person and is widely applied in maternity hospitals, stomatology, saunas.

- lack of influence on air in the house. Film floor does not dry air and does not burn oxygen unlike long-distance heating and oil heaters; - possibility of application under various types of covering: natural wooden parquet, carpet, linoleum, laminate, ceramic tile;

After assembly of laminate it is required to wait for its warming up to room temperature before including infrared film under it.

- universality. The film can be used for flooring in well-planned apartments, country houses and dachas, on the balcony, ladders, walls, ceiling, certain sites and even in inside of the car;

In locations of infrared film on walls it is impossible to carry out repair works, i.e. to twist screws, to hammer nails.

- convenience of repair. If any heating coil has failed, it can be replaced with ease; - achievement of comfort for short term. It is warmly possible to feel almost right after inclusion of warm film; - air ionization. It is noted that in rooms with infrared floor air is saturated with aeroions which in fact are natural antioxidants. Thus, harmful microorganisms and unpleasant smells are destroyed, the amount of dust decreases and the health of the person improves; - noiselessness.

Shortcomings of infrared floor

- electricity consumption. For economy of the means spent for electricity, the infrared film should not serve as the main heater of the room, only as additional; - need of accurate installation during which it is necessary to monitor the correct connection of contacts of film. Besides, before carrying out installation works it is required to prepare absolutely plain surface of floor, otherwise the film can be spoiled. It is for this purpose recommended to lay chipboard or plywood. To achieve desirable result, it is better to ask for the help of the expert; - possibility of defeat by current and ignitions. It is necessary to ensure safety by means of reliable grounding and use of the device of protective shutdown. In office and industrial premises the adoption of laying of heat-insulated floor with fire service is required; - observance of operating conditions. It is easy to damage film floor heavy objects under which the surface strongly heats up because of what the film, flooring and furniture spoils. Therefore it is necessary to stack it only on open areas.

Whether it is worth buying infrared film?

If in the house there are small children, then, certainly, the infrared heat-insulated floor is useful. As long-distance heating works not all the year round, and in the winter of its heat sometimes it is not enough. In basement storey infrared floor will not allow to freeze to the pipeline or I will suck that is relevant for country buildings. Such heating system is advantageous in comparison with other types of ensuring heat in rooms where there are no conditions of carrying out long-distance heating. When using film as main heater they should cover 70 percent of surface of floor. Acquisition of heat-insulated floor – the individual decision. Before purchase it is important to weigh everything pros and cons, to consult experts, to read responses of users.
