Primer and putty of walls

Primer and putty of walls

Painting stucco work – key part of finishing repair. Contrary to quite common opinion that modern wall-paper does not demand primer and putties, in fact it is vital to process walls soil. The surface is more ideal, the more exactly on it material will lay down.

Options of primers

In the market at the moment it is possible to find seven types of primers: acrylic, phenolic, alkyd, perchlorvinyl, gliftalevy, polyvinyl acetate and polystyrine. Acrylic prime coating – the most available and universal: he perfectly lays down on any surface and dries within two-four hours.

Phenolic primer is applied to alignment of metal and wooden surfaces and it does not do under putty. The same concerns alkyd, only its scope of application still already – it approaches only tree. Perchlorvinyl soil – highly specialized is also used only for external walls.

Gliftalevy and polyvinyl acetate primers are extremely toxic and do not go under putty. The first is suitable for tree and metal, the second – only under the polyvinyl acetate paints (applied on any surfaces). At last, polystyrine soil is also used under paint, but it is possible to apply it only in respirators in view of the increased toxicity.

What it is necessary to know about putty

Any primer irrespective of its type should be applied with the special roller very thin layer. After its full drying it is possible to pass to puttying. The putty is important so far as allows to receive ideally equal, sanded walls on which any wall-paper is much better pasted. Glue is absorbed more evenly, and not formed any bubbles. Process, as a rule, is carried out in two stages: big wide apply the first, leveling putty layer with spatula, wait when it dries, and after that impose the second. Then all roughnesses and roughnesses are rubbed clean ordinary abrasive paper. It is also necessary to take the choice of putties seriously. It has to correspond to objectives and have high rates of adhesion (sticking). Attentively read packing before purchase – what only options do not meet on counters: normal and waterproof, front and interior, large and fine-grained, etc. Also putties are divided into dry and ready. There is no basic difference between them by and large, however to use dry mixes not too conveniently as at violation of proportions everything goes to nothing. Pleasant bonus in some products are the additives interfering formation of fungus and mold on walls. As a rule, they meet in finishing putties on glue basis.
