The popularity of roofing material is provided with its low cost, simplicity of mounting and excellent utilization properties. Roofing material production
Traditional roofing material on the basis of mastics from bitumen began to be produced at the beginning of the 20th century. The roofing material manufacturing techniques have practically not changed since then: the layer of roofing felt becomes impregnated with waxy fusible construction or road bitumen with softening temperature of 34 - 50 degrees, and then the layer of high-melting bitumen with softening temperature not lower than 80 degrees containing powder on mineral basis on both sides is put. Powders-fillers on the basis of sand, limestone or dolomite powder, talc or plaster are used for increase in heat resistance and moisture resistance of covering. Then the upper part falls down sand or talc for prevention of adhesion of layers in the course of storage, and the cloth is reeled up in rolls. As a result reliable and durable waterproofing material – roofing material turns out.
Roofing material marking
Roofing material on scope of application is divided into lining and roofing, they differ in thickness of cardboard and topping. Topping at roofing roofing material is larger, than at lining, cardboard layer also thicker. Still they can differ not only in thickness of the cardboard basis and the size of seeds of topping, but also thickness of bituminous coating.
By production of roofing material the following types of designations are accepted: 1. Material: "Р" - roofing material.2. Assignment: "To" - roofing, "П" - lining. 3. Type of topping: "To", "M", "П", "H" - coarse-grained, fine-grained, dust-like, scaly. 4. Density of cardboard basis: 300, 330, 350, 400 g/m2.
Main types of roofing material and their application
RCP-300, RCP-350 - soft roofing roofing material with dust-like topping on both sides of cloth. It is applied in quality of both the top, and base layers of roof and also at waterproofing of building constructions. RPP-300 – soft lining roofing material with dust-like topping on both sides. It is applied only to base layer of waterproof membrane. RCP-350U – roofing roofing material with the increased thickness of bituminous coating. RKK-400 – roofing roofing material with coarse-grained topping. It is applied as top layer of roof.
Types of roofing material
Types of roofing material are the following materials: 1. Paper roof covering – the rolled material received by impregnation by bitumens of roofing felt.2. Roofing felt – the cardboard impregnated with tar with mineral topping from two parties.3. Rubemast – differs from roofing material in the increased bitumen content on inside. Stekloruberoid – rubemast with basis from fiber glass.5 keeps within by method of submelting of base layer.4. Euroroofing material – the modified roofing material on the basis of fiber glass, with impregnation of outer layer from mix of bitumen and polymeric additives. It is put with fusing method, has extended service life.
