Climate of Siberia not the best for floriculture, but romantics and people, in love with flowers, even in the Siberian conditions create heavenly spots from flower beds. Selection does not stand still and every year in nurseries zone new grades of plants, unpretentious, resistant to frosts.
1. The significant place in gardens is allocated to annual plants with the short vegetative period. Alissum, poppy, eshsholtion, marigold, sow nasturtium, cornflowers at the beginning of May in soil. Marigold (tagetesa) should pay special attention. Unpretentious flowers, blossom is abundant and long, have great viability. Happen tall, srednerosly and dwarfish, the last use for borders, in group landings look brightly. Besides the plant useful, disinfects the soil.
2. Very attractive and perfectly one-year dahlias (minions) feel in the Siberian climate. Sow them in April on seedling, seeds large, have good viability, as a rule, in bags mix is on sale, flowers, varied in form and coloring grow from it. "The marsh chrysanthemum" will become worthy frame of beds. Grows at branchy bush 20−30 cm high, flowers small white, the whole summer blossoms, seeds grow ripe and give self-sowing the next year.
3. The southern plants which for full development lack short summer should be planted in the seedling way. The verbena, godetion, delphinium, gillyflower, lobelia belongs to them. The most popular of them − petunias, once modest, and now, thanks to efforts of selectors, - just magnificent. There is set of types, differing on coloring, form of flowers. Terry or large-flowered grades of unusual color will become decoration of garden. Unfortunately, in rainy weather they lose decorative effect. One more shortcoming – very small seeds, it is difficult to receive seedlings.
4. Transfer severe winters and some perennials. Unpretentious, irises, lilies-saranki grow in all Siberian regions. To Budutradovat blossoming long-term chrysanthemums, they are sowed in the spring on seedling or in the fall in soil, blossom for the second year. Quite undemanding tall flower is widespread in northern latitudes – the catchment basin (akvilegiya), perfectly winters in frigid climate. Seeds sow in September on depth of 5−10 cm. Long-term winter-hardy phloxes are highly appreciated by flower growers for decorative effect, they excellently look as in single, so in group landings. Winter-hardy, not inferior on decorative effect to phloxes – lupines, breed seeds and division of bushes.
