Almost any festive feast doesn't do without this dish. And Russian salad for New year is already our national tradition! Its taste at all is associated with the atmosphere of a favourite holiday. Ingredients are available at all seasons of the year and on any purse, and Russian salad extremely simply is cooked. It is the traditional recipe of the acquaintance to us since dish childhood.

It is required to you

  • For 5 portions:
  • - potatoes – 5 pieces of the average size;
  • - a boiled sausage (or boiled chicken meat) – 300 g;
  • - eggs – 5 pieces;
  • - canned green peas – 1 glass;
  • - a cucumber pickles – 2 pieces.
  • - carrots – 2 pieces of the average size;
  • - green onions – 1 bunch;
  • - salt, pepper, mayonnaise – to taste.

Instruction

1. Well we wash out potatoes with carrots, we fill in with water and we cook until ready 20-30 minutes. It is important not to digest. Vegetables need to be cooked in a peel – so they keep the taste, their pieces don't get out of a shape in a ready-to-serve salad. Choosing carrots for Russian salad, pay attention to its ripeness. It can be determined by color: it has to be purely orange, without greenish a streak.

2. We fill in eggs with water and we put on fire. We cook hard-boiled – about 10 minutes from the moment of water boiling.

3. We remove ready potatoes, carrots and eggs from a plate, we merge broth and we allow them to cool down completely.

4. For preparation of Russian salad it is possible to use a boiled sausage or boiled chicken meat. If we prepare with meat: we take 1-2 chicken quarters, well we wash out, we fill in with water and we put on fire. After boiling of water we cook about 30 minutes. We take out ready meat, we cool and we cut small pieces. If we prepare with sausage: we cut 300 g of a boiled sausage in small cubes (about 1.5 cm).

5. We cut potatoes, carrots, eggs and pickles identical cubes – 1.5-2 cm on one party.

6. We cut green onions pieces no more than 0.5 cm. We take quantity to taste – than it is more onions, that salad more sharply. On average 1 small bunch leaves. It is possible to take also instead of green onions 1-2 small heads of usual. We cut usual onions most small.

7. We put the cut ingredients in one big bowl, we pour out 1 glass of canned green peas there (without juice). We salt and at will we pepper. Accurately we mix everything. We add mayonnaise and we disturb again. It is recommended to mix salad carefully, from top to down, that cubes and peas didn't collapse.
