Mean the most important, essence of a subject or the phenomenon by a quintessence; main sense, all the most essential and important; hidden, mysterious which represents a thin and clean basis. In this regard: what is a reason quintessence?
Essence of the material and non-material world
All people at a certain stage of the development marked out four main essence: water, earth, fire and air. But these materialistic substances nevertheless could not explain many things and the phenomena. The most important question could not be explained: from what there were listed entities what in general everything comes from including non-material. One more substance – uniting and antirelying four called was not enough. This fifth essence – quinta essentia – has to be the main. It, unlike the first four – is unchangeable, absolute and eternal.
The quintessence as essence, is present at all elements and things created by God. And the final product, the embodiment of all real in the world – is the person. Here main general idea of the device of the universe.
The estimated fifth essence, quinta essentia, was called air. In Ancient Greek philosophy air was understood as elements, a certain thinnest element. In ancient philosophy the fifth element (Aristotle called it the first) was understood as substance of "firmament", all "the nadlunny world", space with all stars and spheres bearing them inhabiting it.
According to the doctrine developed in platonovsky Academy, air had the corpuscular building in the form of the correct dodecahedron. Later Aristotle began to interpret a quintessence as non-material substance, more and more identifying it with substance of space God and Soul. Later there was a theory of a certain Universal Mind.
Reason quintessence
Reason – category philosophical. Under the word "reason" (ratio – on Latin), "to have reason" the ability to think, analyze, do intellectual generalizations and derivations is understood. The reason is a form of the consciousness directed to itself – consciousness of in this world. Reason – the privilege of the person, as highest being. But in what its essence? Where border between reasonable and unreasonable?
Whether animals are reasonable – this question remains not resolved among scientists. However the majority them nevertheless agrees in opinion that it is inherent in some highest mammals, for example a chimpanzee, dolphins.
