The Red List of Zabaykalsky Krai includes the long list of plants and animals who are on the verge of disappearance. Helps out existence of reserves in the territory of Transbaikalia which allow to control the number of endangered species.

Climatic conditions do the part too – many animals of this look perish because of low May temperatures, a severe drought and plentiful rains in June.
2. At the river otter who is also included in the Red List, other situation. It is on the verge of disappearance and in the ordinary habitats, along courses of the majority of the large rivers, is already exterminated. The main reasons for disappearance is a poaching, deforestation and the strengthened fishery. The last factor deprives an otter of food and leads to death of this animal for hunger.
3. Manul in recent years restoring the population treats the cat family and exceeds by the size of domestic cats only a little. Today in Transbaikalia there are about ten thousand individuals of this look, and his main enemy is a person. Hunting with use of the special equipment, traps and a drag-net do not allow a manul to restore the number of the look fully.
4. In spite of the fact that the Amur leopard lives in Primorye and in China, periodically there are situations when this rare animal comes into the Region of Transbaikalia. Because of a rarity of such situations in the region no measures for rescue and protection of leopards are still taken.
5. The Amur tiger appears in Transbaikalia much more often – quite regularly it is seen near the Shilka River, but it meets and in other places of Zabaykalsky Krai. It is connected with the fact that tigers began migration towards the West in recent years, settling in the Jewish autonomous and Amur regions, but sometimes reach Baikal.
6. The snow leopard, or a snow leopard, as well as a tiger with a leopard, is an animal which is on the verge of total disappearance. In Transbaikalia appears infrequently, the main places of its dwelling - it are Pamir, Altai and Tibet. Ironically, his main enemy is a leopard which number is also steadily reduced.
7. Artiodactyl Zabaykalsky Krai are in not less distress, than predators. The mountain ram, or arkhar, quite seldom appears in these regions because of what exact definition of an area of its dwelling, quite difficult occupation. The number of snow rams also comes to naught, and only to a dzeren, an antelope from family cavicorn, lately, it was succeeded to restore the population more or less.
