How to begin the composition review

The review - one of the most difficult genres not only because demands from the author of the reasoned position, but also because of a difficult multistage design. Even it is possible to begin such composition very differently.

Instruction

1. Formulate opinion on subject to reviewing. Still before beginning to write you have to represent clearly the main idea of future article that then it is systematic "to bend the line" throughout all text. For example, if you liked the movie, then it is absolutely optional to place in introduction emphasis that it failed in a hire.

2. Begin from far away. For example, if you review the performance "Some Like It Hot", begin with the fact that action is based on the classical movie; tell a couple of words about original actors; at the end of introduction ask the question "whether it was succeeded to drop a level, moving the scenario to the stage". As option, the reasoning on a subject upon which the author touches is possible. "The question "Of fathers and children" disturbed mankind always..." However, arguing abstractly, be afraid to leave too far from a subject.

3. Begin with a rhetorical question. It is most certain way not to fall into a creative stupor. For writing of the review of "Romeo and Juliette" the ideal beginning will become: "Why Shakespeare throughout several centuries does not lose the relevance?". After the answer to the matter you can consider introduction stopped and smoothly passing to the main part.

4. Describe a context. For full understanding of the work (which is required from the reviewer) it is necessary to consider the biography of the author, other his works, the description of life and creativity. For example: "For Hermann Hesse "The Glass Bead Game" became the last novel. As if having a presentiment of it, the author wrote the epic story incorporating all his life experience and a set of thoughts...". Still it is possible to begin with the description of an era in which the author lived, to answer the question "Why the Work Was Written Then and whether It Was Relevant?"

5. Place emphasis how other critics accepted the work. For example: "Lars von Trier stirs interest in "Antichrist" even before viewing - absence of indifferent critics who or destroy a picture totally, or praise to high heaven". Subsequently during the work on material it will be easier for you because it is possible to use opinions of other reviewers remorselessly. Also the fact that you not only created own opinion on the work will go to plus, but quietly you perceive others.
