Measuring devices, as a rule, have a scale. It means that on it shaped divisions are put, and a row wrote the numerical values of sizes corresponding to divisions. Distances between two strokes near which values of physical quantity are written can be in addition divided into several divisions, not signed with numbers. The distance between two next strokes is called the price of division of a scale of the device which needs to be defined before use of the equipment.
Instruction
1. Before finding the division price, attentively consider the device: what it measures in what units, its serviceability. It will allow to paint a full picture of the made experiment by determination of any given size. Find two next strokes near which numerical values of size are written on a scale. Consider how many between them divisions (but not strokes).
2. Example. Let it is necessary to determine the price of division of the household thermometer. The next signed strokes of 10 and 20 degrees Celsius. Between them ten divisions are located. Find the positive difference between the chosen numerical values of size, for this purpose take away smaller number from bigger number. Divide the received difference into the number of the divisions which are between them. Received private is the division price without which knowledge not to define the indication of the measuring device.
3. Example. 20-10=10 degrees Celsius. The difference equal to ten degrees Celsius is divided into ten divisions between strokes: 10/10=1 degrees Celsius. Means, the price of division of the chosen thermometer is equal one degree Celsius.
