It is possible to consider such procedure on the example of preparation of the Bordeaux liquid – the solution used by gardeners for fight against fungal diseases of trees. It treats such type of liquid which chemistry is not so difficult for independent study.

1. The Bordeaux liquid is prepared rather simply. To make it, mix solution of copper vitriol and solution of lime. Remember that only extinguished lime will be suitable for preparation of this liquid. If you near at hand had only usual lime, do not worry, to make of it extinguished very easily. Just fill in the semi-finished product which is filled up in the enameled or plastic container with water in the ratio 1 to 2 and leave it at several o'clock.
2. Now about proportions during cultivation. If you want to receive 1% Bordeaux liquid, dissolve 100 grams of vitriol in a small amount of warm water. This dissolution is also recommended to be carried out in the plastic, enameled or glass container, but not in metal. After copper vitriol was completely dissolved, bring the total amount of liquid to 5 liters, having just added a necessary amount of water, already cold.
3. Take the second container and part in it 100 grams of extinguished lime, using also 5 liters of water. At you white liquid which is called a limy milk will turn out. Surely filter it, using the enameled or plastic ware with a capacity not less than 12 liters.
4. In the filtered limy milk a thin stream pour in solution of copper vitriol, constantly stirring slowly with liquid. Surely you watch that during mixing both initial solutions were identical temperature and cold.
5. After the end of preparation check acidity of the environment of the received Bordeaux liquid. For this purpose lower in it a knife. If it became covered by spots of copper of a reddish shade, so solution has acidic environment, and it is not recommended to apply it as plants from such liquid can get burns. To make the level of acidity of liquid more neutral, add to it limy milk. Use the received solution right after the end of its preparation, otherwise it will lose all the useful properties in the course of storage.
