Some claim that the choice and justification of a subject of scientific research which will be issued in the form of dissertation work - already nearly a half put. And it is valid if it is the thesis on a competition of a rank of the candidate of science, then the choice and justification of a thesis happens in the first three months from the date of the beginning of training in a postgraduate study. Justification of a subject allows to carry out the preliminary analysis of the studied problem and to plan ways of its decision.
Instruction
1. When choosing a subject of the master's or doctoral dissertation from the applicant it is required to prove its novelty, usefulness and reliability of the conducted researches. The scientific novelty is the main requirement to a subject of dissertation work and is organically connected with it. Proving scientific novelty, the applicant proves also a subject.
2. Study all literature in a subject of your research, carry out information search in the subject, define in what measure it is connected and it is blocked by the conducted earlier scientific research and the dissertations defended to you. Study literature and information on the matter for the last 10-15 years. Check abstracts, study contents of books, scientific reports, articles on this matter, everything that was printed in domestic and foreign scientific and periodicals.
3. Along with studying information execute constructive criticism of the solutions and hypotheses proposed in it, specify the reasons for which they could become outdated or be incorrect why earlier proposed solutions do not satisfy to new practical requirements and prove need of search of new decisions. Finish justification of novelty with short conclusions and list the main circle of questions which will be solved and investigated in your scientific work
4. At justification of a subject it is necessary to prove also usefulness of results of the forthcoming research. Achievement of positive results when using data of scientific development, the offered technique or technology in production, science, society or education will be such factor.
5. Confirm reliability in justification of a subject with the repeated checks of results put in a practical part of the thesis during the experiments and observations, the addressing the statistical data obtained from different independent sources.
6. The justification of a subject made by you with application of the list of your scientific publications has to be discussed at a faculty meeting. By its results the recommendation for a statement of the chosen subject at a meeting of the Academic Council of faculty or HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION is made.
