In modern psychology there is no uniform standard concept of the personality as each direction, each theory, interprets essence of the personality in different ways. However at us is what to make a start in search of a concept of the personality of psychology from:
- personal lines are always related with behavior of the person in society;
- those qualities which are caused physiologically and genetically are never considered as features of the personality and do not influence its contact with people;
- personal qualities are a characteristic of the person as author of the life;
- informative qualities and individual style of activity do not belong to personal.
Proceeding from all this, we will consider a three-dimensional concept of the personality of social psychology which consists of broad, average, and narrow understanding of an our being.
Wide concept of the personality
As it is possible to guess also from the name, the word wide – designates the general concept of the personality of psychology. Here the temperament, traits of character, individual life experience enters. The general concept of the personality are what can be expected from the person, summarizing his steadiest qualities. Proceeding from this concept, a personality are also animals, they also have both a temperament, and traits of character. And the person, according to this theory, is born the personality. If to give an example, then it looks as follows.
The optimist, the cheerful, sympathetic personality, with strong and determinate character, stability, responsibility, ability to come to the rescue.

Average concept of the personality
Further intermediate understanding of the personality, or an average follows. Freud and Burns were active this concept of the personality in the exercises. The personality in their understanding, is a set of social habits, the ability is in society of people. It is difficult to be in society always and everything, but those who cope with an objective, and are persons. According to Freud the personality is I, according to Burns – Adult.
Narrow concept of the personality
The narrowest concept of structure of the personality of psychology means that the person is not born the personality, but can become it. The personality, according to psychologists Jung, Kozlov, James is individum which controls and is responsible for the life. The personality is an existence of responsibility, it to be the author of the life. Proceeding from this statement it is clear that people do not become obligatory the personality.
