Dissociative frustration of the personality

Dissociative frustration of the personality

Each person since the childhood has memory, can easily distinguish the memories of what happened to it from events from others lives, books or movies. We know who we are, we understand own identity and we are proud of the originality, we seek to be allocated.

However having been born, the child does not realize this, apparently, elementary truth yet. And, nevertheless, in infancy and the early childhood of people realizes himself, the personality and egoism, relying on the help and experience of the parents surrounding him adults and the peers.

If at some point the person for various reasons ceases to realize the place in the world, begins to have problems with self-identification, memory and so forth, there is a dissociative frustration of the personality.

At once we will note that today in the scientific and medical sphere there is no consensus about whether it should be taken into account similar states mental deviations.

Dissociative disorder of identity

Undoubtedly, one of frustration of this direction most interesting in every respect is dissociative disorder of identity, or it is simpler – a split personality. In the history of psychiatry less than one hundred cases of similar change of consciousness of the person are described. During a certain period, most often after a severe stress, people as if forks (also the bigger number of persons in certain cases can be observed). At the same time one "part", as a rule, does not remember what was done by the second. Moreover, one personality does not know or does not wish to know about existence of the personality neighbor. Quite precisely human life with such type of a dissociative syndrome is described in the story by Robert Stephenson "A strange story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde".

In real life the symptomatology of such changed consciousness usually is slightly simpler. The person for any reasons thinks out to himself other life, can share "memories" about the events which were "taking place" in it. You should not confuse it with the imaginations especially inherent in children of younger age. Small children are often abused for a lie and inventions. However the difference between such tricks and dissociation is big. The people suffering from a similar syndrome leave thus from the reality surrounding them, believe in the validity of "memoirs" and feelings. And here for children it is some kind of game by means of which they learn the world and check laws of communication.

Dissociative frustration of the personality and its symptoms

Symptoms of such frustration are always very individual. Most often it is false memoirs, impossibility to distinguish own feelings and memoirs from strangers, inability or unwillingness of self-identification and understanding of the place in the world One more example of dissociative frustration of the personality short-term loss of memory is. Most often the similar state is observed at the people who had a severe stress: the active fighting which endured cruel violence, got to a zone survived in terrible accidents or lost close people. It is some kind of protective reaction of human mind, attempt to be released for a while from too strong negative emotions. Symptoms of such dissociative frustration are simple: the brain as if erases a part of terrible memories, the person cannot remember what happened to it. Subsequently such people can return completely to a normal way of life, perhaps, over time these memoirs partially or completely will return. However in particularly complex forms of such frustration the short-term loss of memory can repeat further.

Modern researches of dissotsiation show that most often such states arise at the people having rich imagination capable to abstraction. The stress endured at children's age becomes the consciousness change reason most often.
