"Mitrich's fir-tree"

Desire to give joy to people is well described by Nikolay Teleshov in the story "Mitrich's Fir-tree". The hero – Mitrich is a watchman of the barrack where brought homeless orphan children. He called them "children of God". On the Christmas's eve he conceived a holiday for them. Cut down a fir-tree. Began to think how to decorate it. Went to church to ask candle candle ends that they as sparks on a fir-tree were pleasing to the eye. But the head of candle ends did not give. The watchman helped out Mitrich, furtively filled in a pocket of not burned down candles.

Still Mitrich bought a few sweets and sausages, himself a vodka bottle. All rejoiced and decorated a fir-tree. At first on a fir-tree attached candies and candles, but it seemed to Mitrich of it a little. He divided sausage and sliced bread small. Bound ribbons and hung up pieces on a fir-tree. When darkened Mitrich lit candle ends of candles. Children began to dance around a fir-tree. For the first time   lately in the barrack  the joyful laughter was heard. Mitrich's soul exulted. He was proud that he could give joy to children. Itself rejoiced to tears and understood that it is important for children because they were left without parents and their future is not known. Mitrich wanted children to remember his fir-tree well.

"Home"

Readiness to help with a trouble and not leaving is in danger is well described in the story by N. Teleshov "Home". He narrates about the eleven-year-old boy Semke who ran away home.

Parents of the boy died, and transported him to other village. He ran away from there. To him it was bad there. He missed the father and mother, the native village, the small river and friends.

On Semk Road, inhabitants near the lying settlements were sorry and fed up. Once the boy reached the river. This river seemed to him familiar, he remembered the native Uzyupka River, and it seemed to him that across the river and there is its native village White.

Down the river the shuttle floated. Semka asked the person to transport him on other coast. The person in the shuttle was angry and unfriendly, asked from the boy of money. Semka faced callousness. To him it became bitter and lonely, there was a wish to die.

Semka was on the way all summer. Closer to fall he met the unknown grandfather. The boy told it about himself, and the grandfather only told that "unknown" both is not present at his place and is not present the homeland. The grandfather was the runaway convict.

Soon Semka caught a cold and got sick. He had a heat. He raved. The grandfather understood that to the boy it is absolutely bad. He cared for the boy: warmed it, shared food, supported when walking. To the city remained a little.

Semka regained consciousness on a hospital bed, remembered the unknown grandfather, looked for him. Having approached a hospital window, saw a chain of the prisoners chained in a chain. Among them there was also his faithful grandfather.

Having begun to cry, Semka understood that the grandfather saved him at the price of the freedom that, maybe, any more will never meet such loyal friend.

Such stories will teach to understand the child why to help and to respond why to others trouble. He will know that mutual assistance, the sharpness and resourcefulness are appreciated in society.
