Exercises for independent work on the feelings and thoughts

As soon as you decided that you will understand the head, you will need to make the following preparatory work:

  1. To find time. You will need not less than 1 hour on exercise performance.
  2. To find the place where nobody will prevent you.
  3. To stock up with sheets of white paper and multi-colored pencils or handles.

As soon as all of you prepared it, it is possible to start process and to begin to understand itself.

  1. The first exercise: at first let's try to understand since what moment there was not an understanding of own feelings and thoughts. For this purpose, try to remember precisely what event pushed you to it. Remembered? Great! Record it on paper, write what occurred and when.
  2. The second exercise: now we try to realize why this event became so important. Analyze what feelings and emotions arose at you during the event with you. It is possible to understand the past only when you accurately understand what emotions you experienced and as for you it was. Write down those emotions which you realize.
  3. The third exercise: draw the picture most of which fully reflects that then happened to you. Let in this drawing there will be everything - both an event, and emotions in relation to it. Look at the drawing and try to analyze it. Whether everything in it is correct? Whether the person who got into a similar situation has to have such feelings? Or, if to look at everything in terms of logic, something is not correct?
  4. The fourth exercise: we draw conclusions. If you came to conclusion that in the drawing something is incorrect, then your problem is that low or excessively high self-assessment prevents you to estimate the events happening to you adequately. For example, you began not to understand yourself and felt disappointment only because your colleague promoted though you also understand that the career development your companion really deserved. If you came to opinion that on the picture everything is correct, then your problem consists in inability to get used to the feelings. You should accept that you can experience some emotions which got used to consider wrong.

If you understand that you reached a deadlock and cannot independently cope, but are not ready to address the psychologist, ask the help for the person to whom you trust. Ask it to do together with you everything the exercises described above.
