It represented the award weighing 68 g. Its diameter was about 50 mm. It got to the Museum through the third hands. When the first champion of the Olympic Games of 1896 died, his family passed the medal as the prize trophy in 1964 between the Japanese gymnast Yukio Endo. Later, it gave this medal to the Museum. There it was placed in not locked cell which was absolutely unprotected from breaking. And as a result the medal was stolen.
