homeland - Mother in Kiev is the monument built in honor of Great Domestic war which calls for patriotism of all citizens. On May 9, 1981 in Kiev The national museum of history of Great Domestic war of 1941-1945 which central part there is this monument was open. Metal karkac it is built from corrosion-proof steel which was melted in Zaporizhia. The steel covering was welded by specialists of Institute of electric welding of name Patona from sheets which sizes were 50х50 cm thickness did not exceed 1.5 mm. The sum of length of seams was not more than 30 km. The monument of the similar sizes was built for the first time in CCCP. It is made at the Kiev plant of a name of the Parisian Commune. By production the recommendations of institute of electric welding of name E were considered. O. Patona on welding of elements from corrosion-proof steel separate blocks - sections weighing 25 — 30 t. The monument was collected by the hundred-meter crane which is specially constructed for this purpose. Later it was dismantled.
