1. Look at a tail of an adult turtle. At a male it more long and more, than at a female.

Males usually have the aggressive and active nature of behavior, often they bite rivals for pads, try to get on females, attack relatives. It is very often possible to observe how the mature male tries to turn other male head over heels. Movements up-headfirst are also characteristic of adult males. At females of such behavior it is not observed.

9. If you hold several overland skulls at the same time, visually compare their sizes. As a rule, the majority of overland species of turtles adult females have much more adult males.
