1. The spring molt is present at animals and at birds. Change of plumage has to happen gradually, the bared sites should not be. Thanks to a molt, by summer at birds down which warmed them in the winter vanishes. Besides plumage is completely updated, the old and damaged feathers are replaced new and healthy.
2. Usually during a molt the condition of birds worsens, they can lose a healthy sleep. More actively calcium and sulfur begins to be used therefore during this period of a bone the most fragile, exchange processes amplify. The place of loss of a feather can begin to bleed because of hemorrhage in a feather bag.
3. Process of change of plumage is influenced not only by season, but also a species of a bird, temperature and humidity of air. Parrots not so sharply react to a molt, their state practically does not change. Insectivorous and birds of prey can lose plumage because of a stress, do not take too often the pet on hands.
4. At mammals the molt passes two times a year – in the spring and in the winter. In the spring the animal gets rid of excess wool which did not allow to freeze in the winter. In warm season, fur serves as protection against parasites, an infection and solar burns. Hair of animals is divided into two views: main hair (the longest and rigid) and minor (they more similar to down).
5. The natural spring molt does not affect a condition of an animal in any way. Wool remains brilliant, hairs do not break. Out-of-season change of fur is characterized by too plentiful loss of wool (when hair get out shreds), fur becomes dim and fragile. It can be a symptom of some disease which is already at a late stage.
6. The wild animals and pets living in the yard fade only two once a year. The animals who are contained in the apartment or other closed space can lose wool all the year round. It is connected with the fact that natural rhythms of room animals are broken, the molt becomes slow, spring smoothly passes into winter.
