In a main window of ICQ - programs for communication in real time – the list of users with whom it is possible to conduct a dialogue is displayed. If you do not need any more certain contact, it can be deleted.
Instruction
1. The described way is suitable both for the ICQ application, and for QIP as their interface is almost identical. Start the program and become authorized, wait until the main window containing the contact list opens.
2. Bring the cursor to a line with a name (name) of that contact which you want to delete, and click with the right mouse button. In a context menu select the Delete Contact item and confirm the actions in a request window, having pressed the Yes button. In the same window you can note a marker the Delete the History of Messages point if you do not want to leave on the computer the history of correspondence with this person.
3. Before removal of any given contact you can use also other option: delete the name from the contact list of that person, record about which you want to erase at yourself in ICQ. For this purpose click a contact name with the right mouse button and choose the Delete Itself from the List of Contact command in a drop-down menu. Answer a question of confirmation of operation in the affirmative.
4. If to you advertizing messages often come and the contact list is already littered with them, perhaps, you should contact settings of the program. That the contact list, not entered by you to the General or Friends group, automatically was removed at start of ICQ, in a main window of the application press the Setup button with the image of a wrench and the screw-driver.
5. In the opened window pass into the section "Contact list". In the Options group install a marker in the field of "Clean Not in the List Groups at the Next Start" and click "Apply".
6. Also it is recommended to make all necessary settings in the section "Antispam" - it will protect you from obtaining useless messages. After you do note a marker all necessary fields, do not forget to press the Apply button that new settings became effective.
