How to dry bilberry

Berries of bilberry are considered as one of the most useful products in the world. It is required to you

Instruction

1. Put bilberry berries in a sieve or a colander and wash a baking plate with flowing water. Remove leaflets and branches.

3. There are several ways to prepare bilberry for drying. All of them are effective in order that berries didn't lose color. The berries processed by pectin look the glossiest. To receive them, dissolve pectin in warm water, according to the recipe, pour them over berries and accurately stir with their spoon that they were covered are uniform. Put berries in a sieve or a colander to merge excess of liquid.

4. Also process berries lemon juice. To receive from a lemon it is as much as possible liquid, take it 1-2 minute in the microwave oven. Sprinkle lemon juice of berry and properly mix them.

5. One more way allowing berries to remain bright after drying – scalding. Prepare a big pan with the boiling water and a bowl with cold water with ice. Dip berries for 2-3 minutes into boiled water and immediately place them in a bowl with ice. Shift berries in a sieve or a colander that water flew down.

6. If you have a special device for drying - the electrodryer, spread out bilberry in one layer in special trays. Dehydrogenate berries, following the instruction, within 6 – 10 hours, depending on that how dry you want to see them. Ready berries will be wrinkled and will decrease in sizes. Switch off the dryer and allow to cool down bilberries. It will take 2-3 hours.

7. If you were going to dry berries in an oven, then previously warm it to 60-70os. Lay a baking tray baking paper and lay out on it bilberry in one layer. Remove a baking tray in an oven, leave a door slightly opened on several centimeters for air circulation. Depending on the size of berries, you dry bilberry from 4 to 12 hours. Ready berries dry, but pliable.

8. If you live in an arid hot climate, try to dry up bilberry in the fresh air. To dry berries and fruit on the street use the special screens consisting of the gauze tense on a wooden framework. Berries will prevent between frames and dry in the sun, for the night removing to the warm dry place. Such way takes several days.
