- modern design styles provide use of light ceiling beams of simple geometrical forms (without ornaments, arrangement in the form of grid or in parallel along walls),
- the rural style or style eco assumes use of beams "under tree", and in separate rural styles (Provence) experiments with non-standard pastel coloring are possible,
- urban styles (hi-tech, the loft) also provide use of these home decoration, it is more corresponding to the village, but for registration it is necessary to choose metal designs.
What to choose?
When choosing ceiling beams it is important to define the necessary material. Wood ceiling beams are considered as the most expensive, however now use them seldom. Usually wood beams are observed in country houses where they perform function of support, successfully fitting into the general design.
Polyurethane or plastic beams are more popular. They are distinguished by ease, moisture resistance, simplicity of installation and mounting. Inside they hollow, and exterior can be various: monophonic opaque or glossy, stylized under tree, specially made old, etc.
Some house masters independently do false-beams for the apartment, using plywood or gypsum cardboard. If competently to think over lighting, it is possible to achieve the soaring effect and considerable "raising" of ceiling.
