New Year's holidays not far off. Also there is a wish to grow up something vitamin and useful to please also themselves and the relatives. It is the simplest to plant onions turnip. And what else it is possible to grow up green cultures, without making great efforts?
Among set of green cultures is very early and unpretentious which even the beginner will be able to grow up on windowsill without special work and expenses. The most fast-growing are garden cress and salad mustard. Also it is not difficult to grow up spinach and arugula.
It will be required to you:
- the ready moisture capacious soil incorporating biohumus, the loosening components (sand, vermiculite, perlite, coco);
- box or other low container, we stack 1.5-2 cm of layer of haydite on bottom, from above 6-10 cm soil;
- seeds of early ripening varieties of garden cress, sheet mustard, spinach, arugula;
- lamp for dosvechivaniye. When lighting in winter time within 10-12 hours the distillation turns out more qualitative and without delays.
Cultivation temperature in the range from 15 to 23 wasps. To receive the greens by New Year's holidays, crops should be carried out at the end of November or the beginning of December.
Garden cress
Seeds scatter densely on the moistened soil, randomly on depth of 0.5 cm. Cover with film and put to the dark place. Shoots appear quickly, in several days. 20-25 days later in process of growth it is possible to start cut of gentle greens.
The garden cress tastes like horse-radish. This excellent avitaminosis medicine in the winter time improving dream and reducing arterial blood pressure. Greens are added to various salads, vinaigrette, put on sandwiches.
Instead of garden cress it is possible to grow up also sheet early grades of salads, but they grow more slowly.
Sheet mustard
It is even simpler to expel vitamin greens of sheet mustard. Seeds or sow in the humidified earth, or grow up on the wetted cotton wool. The term of distillation of sheet mustard and ascends only 2-3 weeks it even earlier, than garden cress. Start cleaning of greens in 2 weeks when plants reach height of 5 cm.
Leaves use it fresh in salads. Add at suppression as garnish to meat and fish dishes. Leaves have pleasant aroma and sharp taste, thanks to the mustard essential oil containing in them.
Spinach
Before crops the seeds ret in warm water for the night. So shoots will appear much quicker. Spinach is sowed in grooves of 1-1.5 cm in depth and with distance between seeds in 2.5-3 cm. Shoots appear week later. At distillation of spinach it is important to observe moderate watering, without allowing to dry up seedlings, otherwise spinach can go to arrow. At emergence of 4-5 leaves of plant pull out absolutely. Spinach of grade Godri, Giant, are capable to give to Virofle in 30-35 days the good socket of leaves.
Arugula
Despite the fashionable name, cultivation of arugula does not differ from cultivation of garden cress. Seeds also sow randomly. At temperature 17-25os shoots arise for the 3rd day. If seeds have ascended densely, then thin out part of seedlings. Arugula quickly grows, and it is ready to cut already 3-4 weeks later after shoots of seeds.
Greens of arugula have the mixed peppery and nut taste with juicy slightly bitter taste. Greens will be by the way in any dishes, since salads and finishing fish, meat, fish products, cheese, cottage cheese, sauces.
And here to grow up seeds of fennel and parsley in December it is very problematic.
