Granite is one of the most hardly processed materials, it is very firm and at the same time brittle. That to drill it, it is necessary to follow accurately some rules, otherwise it can crack.

- - electric drill with possibility of work on small turns;
- - diamond crown of the necessary diameter, drill with pobeditovy sputtering or tube from copper;
- - semicircular file;
- - plasticine;
- - corundum, will win or diamond dust;
- - chilled water.
Instruction
1. Establish granite stone on the rigid and stable base. Any part of stone should not sag or is on uneven surface.
2. Take metal drill and harrow the granite block in the center of future opening. It is necessary in order that the drill did not slide on smooth surface of stone.
3. Record drilling crown of the required diameter in electric drill. Choose crown with diamond sputtering, otherwise to drill granite at you it will not turn out.
4. Include drill and on small turns begin to drill. Do not use the perforated mode of drilling, the granite stone at the same time will burst.
5. In drilling point during all process it is necessary to pump cold water. For example, use plastic bottle in which cover the small opening is punched. If you have bottle with special nozzle for athletes, then use it as cooling feed system on drill. It is better if the assistant is responsible for water supply.
6. In case you have no diamond crown, try to drill to facet thus: around future opening make ring of plasticine. Height of side of ring has to be not less than 3-5 mm.
7. Pour water in ring and fill corundum, will whitewash or diamond dust.
8. Fix in electric drill tube from non-ferrous metals (copper or brass) and begin work. Also you drill the granite block on slow turns, not including the perforation mode. During all process it is necessary cool tube with cold water, for this purpose it is necessary to provide continuous water supply in the field of work of drill.
9. If you have near at hand no diamond crown or tube from copper or brass, drill granite normal pobeditovy drill. Begin drilling on big turns, constantly pumping cold water in the field of work.
10. As soon as process of drilling stops being effective, take semicircular file and grind drill. Carry out sharpening of drill accurately to prevent heating of the cutting teeths, otherwise they will become soft and will be blunted even quicker. Consider that when drilling opening in granite drill with pobeditovy sputtering you should carry out sharpening of drill each 20–40 seconds.
