How to prepare soil

Future harvest in many respects depends on quality of seedling, and, respectively, on the soil in which it was grown up. In shops the soil which is specially prepared for different types of plants - tomatoes, cucumbers, pepper is on sale. However it is possible to pave the way under seedling independently.

Instruction

1. For preparation of soil it is possible to mix the earth taken from the seasonal dacha or from the wood with humus and mineral fertilizers. If as substrate you have decided to use peat, it is necessary to neutralize its sour reaction by means of dolomite powder or ashes, and then to mix with humus or the crushed pine bark and to add complex mineral fertilizers.

2. Before vyseivaniye of seeds soil needs to be disinfected. Water it with weak solution of potassium permanganate or calcinate in oven that pathogenic microorganisms have died. However, after heat treatment also useful bacteria perish. That to restore them, add biohumus to the soil and water it with EM-medicines, according to the instruction.

3. It is better to grow up seedling in wooden boxes. For improvement of drainage on bottom it is possible to fill coarse sand, pebble or haydite. Plastic containers with openings in the bottom will be suitable for cultivation. That the earth did not get enough sleep, lay box the newspaper or cardboard from within.

4. Seeds of cucumbers, melons and watermelons often sow in glasses. It is better to use paper container or special peat glasses which decay in the soil. The plant should not be taken from capacity, so, its root system will not suffer.

5. Soil in the greenhouse needs also to be disinfected before planting of seedling by means of potassium permanganate solution. For improvement of structure of the soil it is possible to use oat straw. It quickly decays, turning into humus, and gives a lot of heat. In the greenhouse you should not apply chlorine-containing fertilizers as chlorine is not washed away by melt and rain water, and remains in the soil.

6. For cultivation of nightshade family (tomatoes, pepper, eggplants) as substrate it is possible to use the rye or wheat dry pressed straw – rotten it does not do. To make sure that straw does not contain herbicides, trouble it boiled water and use this water for check of viability of seeds. If seeds ascend badly, straw cannot be used as substrate. Besides, before soil preparation straw needs to be processed antifungal medicines.
