The old furniture wall which is ideally fitting into the room by the sizes looks unfashionable, sad and spoils all impression of interior. It is simply a pity to throw out still strong furniture. In that case it can be updated. It will cost much cheaper, than to buy new.
It is required to you
- - putty for tree;
- - furniture fittings (couplers, door hinges, legs; shelf-holders, handles, guides, elevator-apy);
- - new furniture facades;
- - paint-spray for tree;
- - screw driver;
- - self-adhesive film.
Instruction
1. Remove all doors and glasses from cabinets. Try to move furniture here and there and look, how steadily it costs. If the wall does not creak and is not unsteady it is possible to work with it.
2. Check all screws and couplers, bring up them in case of need. Examine furniture from reverse side. The back wall has to adjoin densely to the body if somewhere it departs, attach it by means of small furniture tacks.
3. Putty all scratches and chips on the body special means. In shops, furniture putties of various coloring are on sale. Pick up that that will be is ideal under color of your furniture. Especially carefully process faces, here most often there are defects.
4. If you do not accept color of your furniture, it can be changed by means of paint-spray on tree. Pick up the necessary shade, and you put it with even thin layer so that the texture of tree looked through through coat of paint. Shaded paint has to be only one-two tones lighter or is more dark than initial color. In this case furniture will look more naturally. Coat cabinets not only outside, but also inside. Let's paint dry.
5. Cardinally it is possible to change color of furniture, having pasted over it with the self-adhesive film imitating texture of tree. Before performing this work, be trained to work with film on small piece of furniture. Any shortcomings of work will be evident, and furniture will look inaccurate.
6. Wooden legs 15-20 cm high give to furniture outdated shape therefore it is better to replace them. Now on sale there is huge choice of furniture legs for every taste and any style, from high tech to baroque. Try that height of new legs not too differed from former.
7. Put cabinets nearby and think whether it is possible to change arrangement of doors and niches somehow. It is possible to replace sliding glass doors oar or to try to unite oar doors of mezzanines. Replace them on one rising up by the elevator-apakh. Trade places the opened and closed niches, having moved doors. Do not limit the imagination to memories of old shape of your wall.
8. The most responsible and expensive part of updating is replacement of doors or as they are called by furniture makers, facades. Doors can be pasted over with self-adhesive film. But it is better to buy ready. All sizes of furniture parts are unified long ago. In shops it is possible to buy any facades of the suitable size today.
9. If in your wall oversizes of doors, it is possible to order them in any salon on production of furniture. In the same place it is possible to order also glass doors together with necessary accessories.
10. There are various materials for facades: MDF, colored laminated chipboard, structured by laminated chipboard, doors with glass or textural inserts. The most expensive option is facades from MDF. It is very strong and reliable material. Doors from MDF can have any form. Facades from colored of laminated chipboard cost cheaper. They quite will be suitable for updating of old furniture wall.
11. Hang facades, fasten all handles. Establish furniture into place.
