It does not require special attention, but at the same time pleases with beauty of the big leaves of green, brownish and burgundy shades. Flowers of perennial are most often not really remarkable. The perennial is provided by several original forms. Among them the special popularity was won by the most ornamental plants.
Rodzhersiya buzinolistny (Rodgersia sambucifolia)
At rodzhersiya buzinolistny leaves rather small, uneven at the edges. They resemble elder leaves superficially thanks to what the plant and has received the name. The place of growth in are natural conditions - the woods of pine type in China. The plant reaches 120 cm in height. Its inflorescences are provided by cream colored small whisks. Blossoming begins in July. The most popular grades:
- Red skin (brown leaves, dirty-white flowers);
- Kupfersheyn (bronze leaves, white flowers).
Rodzhersiya konskokashtanolistny (Rodgersia aesculifolia)
Rodzhersiya konskokashtanolistny - very popular look. It grows in mountain areas of China, but is perfectly cultivated in other weather conditions. The plant reaches 140 cm in height. Its big leaves, sprawling and on exterior, in form remind chestnut leaves. Flowers can be painted in white or pink color.
The plants belonging to this look are capable to decorate personal plot, the house adjoining territory. When leaves only begin to be dismissed, they differ in unusual bronze shade and only by the beginning of blossoming become green. The most popular grades of this look:
- Henrits (low hybrid with bronze leaves);
- Henry (inflorescences are painted in gentle-pink color).
Rodzhersiya plumose (Rodgersia pinnata)
Rodzhersiya plumose is from China too. Its branched stalks, and leaves possess dense scapes. They change the color from purple-violet for green. In height the plant during blossoming reaches 120 cm. Flowers of plumose rodzhersiya the small, forming perceptible inflorescences of pink shade. Blossoming begins in July and comes to an end at the end of August.
The most popular grades of plumose rodzhersiya:
- Superba (leaves bronze, but gradually get bright green shade);
- Ercole (the large plant with bronze leaves reaching up to 2 m in height).
Rodzhersiya podofillovy (Rodgersia podophylla)
The Podofillovy rodzhersiya is widespread in China, Korea, Japan. The plant of this look has distinctive feature - abundance dense streak on large leaves. It blossoms at the end of July. Flowers have white shade and form large inflorescences. Rodzhersiya podofillovy is provided by the following grades:
- Braunlab (bronze leaves);
- Rotlaub (reddish leaves);
- Smaragd (leaves have green shade throughout all season).

Where to put rodzhersiya
Rodzhersiya - plant not whimsical, but it does not love too bright sunshine therefore it is better to put it on pritenenny sites. It is recommended to choose the place protected from wind for landing. Soil has to be fertile, friable and damp. From time to time it is necessary to bring peat, humus and compost in the soil.
Rodzhersiya needs abundant watering and very well grows near reservoirs. But it is impossible to plant plant in lowlands as stagnation of moisture leads to death of root system. Rodzhersiya strongly expands and it needs to be considered at landscaping premeditation. It is better to allocate under it the big area at once.
Care for plant
That the rodzhersiya was pleasing to the eye large leaves and beautiful blossoming, it is necessary to follow certain rules of care for it:
- to water at least 2 times a week in summertime of year;
- to cut off old branches in the spring;
- after the end of blossoming to delete inflorescences;
- in anticipation of frosts to cover rhizomes with humus.
In the spring and it is possible to introduce organic fertilizers to the soil in the fall and to mulch it. Mulching promotes preservation of moisture in nutritious substrate.
The plant seldom is exposed to diseases and is not afraid of wreckers. If on leaves there are spots or other symptoms of infection are found, it is necessary to spray rodzhersiya with fungicide and to remove the struck escapes.
