Polyurethane foam is the easiest way to close up hole in apple-tree or pear. Any hole or hollow in garden trees it is possible to close up in several minutes, and next year it is possible to celebrate harvest. However the harvest from such tree is capable to do harm to health and GIT of the person.
It is clear only one – construction foam is not recommended to be used for restoration and treatment of the live tree bearing fruits. The components which are part of polyurethane foam are not calculated on contact with vegetable juice trees. Also so far nobody has thoroughly studied behavior of foam in body of tree and its influence on taste, quality and structure of fruits. Therefore it is better not to risk and not to use polyurethane foam for these purposes.
Than it is possible to close up tree hollow?
It is the best of all not to risk and use for seal of hollow the checked sealing material on the basis of lime, sand and cement. To use such mix not tree, it is enough to make the following:
- By means of scraper and chisel it is necessary to smooth out carefully hollow and to remove necrotic elements. If there is a wish to clean hollow quicker, without use of scraper and chisel, it is possible to use drill and special nozzle in the form of brush. After processing, sawdust can be deleted with adhesive tape or insulating tape.
- To prepare the 5 percent disinfecting solution consisting of 4 small spoons of vitriol and 0.4 warm waters.
- To put on bandage and gloves, and after that to process inside face the prepared anti-septic tank.
- After full drying of hollow to fill it with beaten bricks.
- To mix cement and sand (proportion 1:3) and to add to water. To mix solution to consistence of dense sour cream.
- To add one big spoon of drying oil to solution and once again properly to mix everything.
- To fill in with the turned-out solution hollow. If hollow vertical and narrow, it is necessary to enter solution small dosages. If such option does not arrange, it is possible to apply solution with cotton balls or even to use spray for these purposes.
- The seal from cement should not stick out from tree therefore it is important to remove surplus.
- In 6 days to cover seal with couple of layers of oil paint.
If it is necessary to close up deep and big hollow, it is necessary to take care of additional durability for seal and to make framework. For this purpose the plaster wall or wire will approach.
What way would not be chosen, it is recommended to close up apple-trees and pears late fall as then all important processes at these trees slow down, and circulation of juice practically stops. So the risk of infection of fruits will be minimal.
