How to draw a detail

To make any detail, it is necessary to design it and to issue drawings. On the drawing the main and auxiliary types of a detail which at competent reading give all necessary information on a form and the sizes of a product have to be presented.

Instruction

1. As a rule, design of new details assumes studying the state and industry standards according to which design documentation is carried out. Find all state standard specifications and OSTy which will be necessary at implementation of the drawing of a detail. For this purpose you need numbers of standards by which you will be able to find them in the Internet in electronic form or in archive of the enterprise in paper form.

2. Before beginning to carry out the drawing, pick up a necessary format of a leaf on which he will settle down. Consider quantity of projections of a detail which you need to represent on the drawing. For details the idle time of a form (especially for rotation bodies) happens a main type and one projection enough. If the projected detail has irregular shape, a large number of through and deaf openings, grooves, then it is desirable to make several projections and also to give additional local types.

3. Draw a detail front view. Choose that look which will give the most complete idea of a detail form. Make other types if it is necessary. Put the cuts and sections showing internal openings and grooves of a detail.

4. Put the sizes according to GOST 2.307-68. Overall dimensions best of all characterize detail size therefore put down these sizes so that they easily could be found on the drawing. Put down all sizes with admissions or specify quality on which the detail has to be made. Remember that in real life, on production, it is impossible to make a detail with absolutely exact sizes. Always there will be a deviation in the greater or lower side which has to enter an admission interval on the size.

5. Surely specify roughness of surfaces of a detail according to GOST 2.309-73. It is very important, especially for exact details of instrument making which are a part of assembly units and connect on landing.

6. Write the technical requirements imposed to a detail. Specify features of its production, processing, coating application, operation and storage. Do not forget to specify material of which the detail is made in the main inscription of the drawing.
