Even those who are far from sport repeatedly heard names of legendary athletes. They made the huge contribution to development of sports culture, and their activity isn't forgotten decades.
Muhammad Ali is the legendary boxer
In school days Cassius Clay didn't like to fight. He came to the box only because wanted to teach a good lesson hooligans who stole from it the bicycle. However the young and impudent guy showed remarkable progress, having come to the ring and defeating one glorified boxer behind another.
Clay's success was stunning - he became the five-time Boxer of year, the Boxer of decade and even the Athlete of the century. In 1964 the boxer received Islam and replaced the name. Presently it is better known as Muhammad Ali.
After end of sports career of Ali did charity work. However the cruel sports past has an effect - Parkinson's disease was diagnosed for the boxer, at it legs began to refuse, to shiver hands, the speech and hearing was violated. Ali struggles with the disease to this day.
Muhammad Ali has the nickname "Greatest". So he called himself.
Pelé - the soccer legend
Edson Arantes du Naximengtu better known as Pelé, was the football player's son. He played in youthful team of the native town where the coach noticed its speed and agility at once, and then invited to viewing in little-known, but professional club. After this pit Pelé sharply went uphill. It scored the goal in the first match, and in the next years quite often received the rank of the top scorer. The known Brazilian clubs paid attention to the talented young man, and soon Pelé already played in the national team. The athlete became the youngest world champion in soccer - at that time he was only 17 years old. Later it still won twice conferred a title, and still nobody broke this record. Now Pelé is engaged in public work and also business. It possesses the known brand of the Cafe Pele coffee.
Pelé came from very poor family, and his career became one of the most triumphal in the sporting world.
Michael Jordan
The noun of this basketball player became common long ago. No wonder, growth of the Flying Jordan is nearly 2 meters. By the way, Michael's parents possessed the average physical build, and future basketball player first was also low, and nobody expected from it star sports career. However, having played basketball, Jordan fell in love with this sport. He trained much, often jumped and well ate. It allowed Michael to grow up and be included into school team. Gradually Jordan began to make extraordinary progress, and, already playing in University team, he got into the national team of the USA. The athlete was fallen in love to fans by the prompt style of the game, spring ability and ease of passes. He was included on covers of magazines and in advertizing videos, and the Nike company even signed with him the contract for advertizing of sneakers. Now Jourdan is engaged in business. Also it is the owner of own basketball team.
