As animals influence plants

As animals influence plants

The nature is harmonious, and her representatives are in continuous interaction with each other. The climate and features of a landscape are of great importance for representatives of flora and fauna. Animals and plants also during evolution have a great influence at each other.

Instruction

1. The variety of fauna has various impact on plants. For example, for many herbivorous representatives of various groups of animals the green parts of plants are food. Herbs, trees and bushes could not remain long time defenseless, and developed various mechanisms to oppose to the similar address. Some plants as a result developed the specific taste unpleasant for animals (for example, those herbs which today the person uses as spices). Others became simply poisonous. The third preferred to get means of protection – thorns which complicate to animals access to their green parts.

2. For some plants the representatives of fauna became faithful assistants in reproduction and resettlement of their seeds. Plants had to get bright colors with sweet nectar to attract to themselves insects pollinators (and in certain cases and birds). Birds and animals eat berries of plants (they also had to be made during evolution attractive on taste) then the seeds which are contained in them are carried on long distances, leaving together with excrement. Therefore berries of plants, as a rule, bright – red, black, blue. Green color would be simply imperceptible against the background of foliage. Some plants got special devices – prickles, or made the seeds sticky that, clinging to hair of animals, also to be settled all over the world.

3. Animals are capable to create a favorable environment for plants. Ants, earthworms and small small animals regularly enrich the soil with organic matter, loosen it and do to more comfortable for growth in this place of herbs, bushes and trees. And through the openings left by insects and rodents in the soil, water freely gets to roots of plants, feeding them. Therefore vegetable and animal organisms stay in close cooperation with each other.
